But this year, as protests throughout the Middle East have actually pushed up the price of oil, the issue of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.
In a region that has among the highest carbon footprints on the planet, one business is benefiting from the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's established the Middle East's very first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing rewarding too, already their client-list includes McDonald's.
